What the apps store locally

The mobile app stores your settings, presets, unfinished match, and saved match history on your device. It also stores a randomly generated device credential securely so connected mode can authenticate the installation. The TV app stores its anonymous device credential, current pairing/session information, and display preferences. You can clear mobile match history from the app. Removing the app removes its app-managed local data, subject to your platform’s backup behavior.

Connected mode data

Connected mode is optional. When you use it, ScoreboardWTF processes an anonymous installation identifier and platform, match configuration and score/timer state, membership roles, pairing information, revisions, and service timestamps. Pairing tokens and device credentials are stored only as one-way hashes on the server where applicable. No name, email address, user account, contact list, or precise location is required.

Network and abuse-prevention data

Like most internet services, hosting providers may process request metadata such as IP address, timestamp, route, and device/network information for delivery, security, and diagnostics. Core rate limiting stores a one-way hash derived from the request address for the duration of its short rate-limit window; it does not store the raw address in the application database.

Camera

The mobile app requests camera access only when you choose to scan a ScoreboardWTF pairing QR code. Frames are processed for scanning and are not uploaded or saved by ScoreboardWTF. The apps do not request microphone, contacts, location, photos, Bluetooth, advertising tracking, or notification permission.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the Core API and may process request and operational log data. Neon stores connected match records in PostgreSQL. Ably delivers short-lived realtime match events to authorized devices. These providers act as infrastructure processors; ScoreboardWTF does not sell personal data and does not provide data to advertising networks or data brokers.

Retention

• Pairing sessions expire after five minutes and are removed by scheduled cleanup.
• Connected matches and their memberships expire after seven days and are then removed.
• Rate-limit buckets expire with their short enforcement windows and are removed by cleanup.
• Anonymous device installation records that are inactive and no longer referenced are removed after 90 days.
• Infrastructure security and operational logs follow the configured retention practices of the relevant provider.

Security and transfers

Connected traffic uses HTTPS and short-lived, match-scoped realtime authorization. Server credentials are not included in mobile or TV builds. Infrastructure providers may process data in countries other than yours under their applicable safeguards.

Children and tracking

ScoreboardWTF is a general scorekeeping utility and is not directed specifically to children. It has no advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, behavioral profiling, or sale of personal data.

Your choices

You can use mobile scorekeeping entirely offline, deny camera access and type pairing codes instead, clear local match history, or avoid connected mode. Connected data expires automatically. The release contact address, support@scoreboard.wtf, is reserved but not active during this engineering preview; it will be provisioned and tested before store submission. Because there is no account, a future deletion request may require the relevant match or installation details available on your device to locate a record safely.

Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Until the release mailbox is active, this page is the authoritative privacy notice and contact-status record.
